TYPICAL WHITETAIL DEER RECORDS
The Beauty of Symmetry
In actuality, the term ‘typical’ refers to what might be deemed ‘normal’ antler growth. That is, the buck will sport a single left and right beam with individual tines projecting upwards from them in an evenly spaced manner. Drop-tines, forked tines and any other forms of antler growth considered to be abnormal is viewed as non-typical.
There are three significant factors that affect antler shape and size: genetics, nutrition and age. For more information on deer biology and management, visit www.qdma.com
